Help plan our programs:
- 8 - 12 per year; takes approx 30 hours total of effort to contact and coordinate the schedule
- We can use ideas for new topics or presenters
- We have a budget to pay presenters
- You get to meet some very interesting presenters
Lead or assist on a field trip
- An excellent way to see what birds we have in our area
- A good way to meet others interested in birds
- Do not have to be a total expert - just know the particular site, and be willing to show others
- Organize and/or lead
Newsletter writer/editor/photographer
- Write articles or perhaps a seasonal column
- Use online software (provided) to create and send our twice monthly eNewsletter - we'll teach you how.
- Take photos at our events for the eNewsletter and/or posting on social media and our web site.
Web site
- Website management involves using online software that can be accessed from any computer. Volunteers should be comfortable using a computer.
- Most web site updates are simply adding calendar events, changing photos, listing current news, etc.
- Web site management requires approx 1 - 2 hours per week. More time may be needed during peak birding season.
Publicity & Social Media
We use many channels to keep our members informed, entertained, and hopefully inspired to action.

- Facebook - if you can schedule a post, create an album and copy/paste - you can do Facebook
- Instagram / SnapChat & More - we'd like to branch out to other social media platforms - can you assist?
- Printed Fliers & Posters - Create posters from an established template, and distribute them to sites for posting. Email information to local papers and TV stations.
- We also produce several educational handouts, and could use more. Is there a topic you are interested in?
