People like YOU are what makes Audubon go!
Volunteers make Zumbro Valley Audubon what it is and does. We have no paid staff. But we do have numerous good people who contribute their time, thoughts, and efforts to make us effective. Each year dozens of people volunteer collectively over 1,000 hours. This work comes in various forms:

Volunteers make Zumbro Valley Audubon what it is and does. We have no paid staff. But we do have numerous good people who contribute their time, thoughts, and efforts to make us effective. Each year dozens of people volunteer collectively over 1,000 hours. This work comes in various forms:
Advocacy: Contacting public representatives to make known our views on issues that affect birds and the environment. LEARN MORE >
Citizen Science: Gathering data and delivering it to researchers, so we better understand what is happening with birds, butterflies, and our environment. LEARN MORE>
Stewardship: Natural resource management activities such as control of invasive species, seed collection and restoration, and helping injured raptors get to facilities for care and rehabilitation. Some of these activities are especially good for groups. LEARN MORE>
Outreach and Education: Taking our enthusiasm and knowledge of birds and other aspects of nature to the general public. We do this through handouts, web pages, displays (usually staffed) at events, and presentations to other groups. Often we provide the information, and you only need to provide the enthusiasm! LEARN MORE>
Program & Administrative Support: Nearly every aspect of Zumbro Valley Audubon is done by volunteers. Everything - from arranging speakers for programs, publicity, finances, planning and running field trips, serving as officers or board members, and more - are done by dedicated volunteers. Who can volunteer:
Most volunteers will be individual adults. But for Stewardship and some Citizen Science projects mature children can also participate. Our volunteers are good, fun people who share their knowledge and skills. Working together we not only do good things, but have good times. Why not join us?
To get involved, come to our next meeting, or contact one of these people for information for more information:
